the email i just sent to all my coworkers

Well folks,
I'm heading out to the South Pacific on Sunday. If you feel like praying for me, I'm certainly not against it!

Hopefully all my loose ends on cases have been sufficiently described to the appropriate people.

If you find you really need me for something, I would suggest letting my mom* know, because she will be able to keep in better contact with me than most anyone else. It is likely that I won't have internet access for the majority of my time in Vanuatu (that will be a learning experience!).

If your Windows Update tells you that you have new updates ready to install, please install them and follow the directions. Same goes for Norton / Symantec AntiVirus.

If you need technical assistance, first try asking someone in the office who is younger than you ... and if that doesn't work, [outside tech consultation guy's name removed]'s email is [email obviously also removed].

If you are Jewish, have a wonderful and blessed high holiday season, and during Sukkot remember your faraway coworker who is most likely actually living in a booth.

And, of course, if you would like to know ten surprising uses for Aspirin, go to this site.

See you on the first of November!!!
Alanna

nine days

nine days until i leave. i still don't think it's sunk in yet.

life has been super extra great lately, and very busy. work has been particularly crazy as my bosses and associates realize i'm leaving so soon. i've started to tell clients about my "personal leave of absence," and they keep asking if i'm having a baby. uh, not just yet.

a couple of weeks ago i got to go to toronto for a beautiful wedding. i'm so thrilled for K&A, who are ridiculously adorable together, and they threw a mighty fine international party (she's from brazil via canada, he's from the states, and can i just say portuguese is a gorgeous language?) to celebrate their union. i got to reunite with some other toronto friends as well.

the road trip there and back was also oddly wonderful, even though i was in a non-air-conditioned SUV tightly packed with me and four guys. i kept telling myself i had to toughen up in preparation for living out in the sticks in the south pacific for two months. we just called it an adventure and had a great time. i haven't even had a chance to transfer my photos of the wedding and niagara falls &c., but if there are any decent ones i'll post them here. so i guess this post is really just a tease...
